The members of ADÉFRANCE have gained valuable experience of the French way of ensuring that clients retain overall control over their projects, thanks to a partnership-based approach. Indeed, our member organisations have that specific urban development expertise, derived from combining holistic and operational approaches to urbanisation issues:

the holistic approach encompasses the political, administrative, economic, property, technical, financial, urban planning, strategic management, etc. aspects;

• the operational approach covers not only planning consultancy work, but also coordinated project completion and implementation;
• this makes for a balanced approach, thanks to the security given by a public sector project owner to a development process featuring the strong involvement of private sector developers;
• the implementation methods are adaptable to the uncertainties inherent in long-term undertakings;
• the partners of ADÉFRANCE benefit from over 15 years spent on adapting these methods to urban projects across the world.

Our multidisciplinary teams made up of staff from one or more of the Grouping’s membership have adapted these methods to urban projects outside metropolitan France and abroad, at the request of clients from all continents. In this brochure, you will find a list of completed projects that show the diversity and general applicability of our experience.

Depending on the scale of a project, our team may comprise:

• an urban planner and architect to lead and coordinate the design team;
• a quantity surveyor/cost estimator to control the project’s financial equilibrium;
• a sociologist and strategic planner responsible for facilities and services;
• an operations engineer to coordinate and direct all the works;
• a salesperson to sell land to builders and industrialists;
• a financial expert to balance the books and manage the project’s balance sheet;
• a land surveyor to control and sell land.
